Mountain Songs
The present song book was published in 1949 by Aymà Editors with the sponsorship of the Unió Excursionista de Catalunya (UEC) [Hiking Association of Catalonia]. It has now been reprinted in honor of the poet Josep Punsola, author of the poems of these songs, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his death. 'These poems are simple in order to enable their addressees 'hikers' to remember them easily and make them theirs. The skiing and hiking songs are cheerful; the farewell songs are melancholic. All of them, however, reach their goal and have been sung throughout Catalonia during the last decades thanks to the efforts of popularization of their friends, notably of maestro Sala.'
