Countertenor and Composer
He was born in Manlleu (Barcelona), and studied piano at the Vic Music School, at the Estudi Àngel Soler and at the Barcelona Music School, and singing at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
He has performed with the Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Capella de Música de Santa Maria del Mar, the Capella Reial de Catalunya, the Baroque Orchestra of Seville, the Cordoba Symphony Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya), and with the groups La Colombina and the Early Opera Company at the festivals of Innsbruck and Glyndebourne among others.
He took the title role in Mazzocchi's 'La catena d'Adonis' with Cantus Cölln and in Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice' with the Òpera de Sabadell, in the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and in the Gran Teatre del Liceu opera house in Barcelona.
He recently took part in the première of Adriano Guarnieri's 'Passione secondo Matteo' with the choir and orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and has also made his debuts in the main Barcelona concert halls: the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Auditori Nacional.
He has been awarded prizes for piano playing, singing (best countertenor in the Francesc Viñas International Singers' Competition in 1997), and composition (in the Generalitat de Catalunya competition and in the Children's Song Competition in Reus).
