Àngels Reixach i Erra

She is a Catalan who is a graduate in the History of Art (University of Barcelona) as well as a qualified musician with advanced studies in piano, conducting, theory of music and composition. Her teaching work has involved successive posts since 1979 in theory of music, accompaniment and composition at Barcelona's Municipal School of Music, and a five-year term as lecturer in Musical Education at the Teachers' University School of Barcelona.
She has composed works for various ensembles and in various styles, with performances of them at the University of Barcelona and at the Music School's Toldrà Auditorium.
Her works also include songs to words by Antonio Machado, Mireia Xapel·li, Elionor Borràs and Àngels Rexach.
She wrote the book 'Cànons de l'Ofrena Musical' ('Canons from the Musical Offering') on analysing and listening to J. S. Bach's counterpoint, and is now working on companion works on harmony and on the fugue.
She has taught courses on harmony and melody at the Bilbao School of Music, and has been a member of tribunals for competitive examinations for posts and panels for composition prizes, such as Barcelona's Frederic Mompou Prize.
She has worked as the head of the Composition Department and as assistant head of studies at the Barcelona Municipal School of Music, and is now academic secretary there.
