Doctor in Art (with a specialization in Musicology) by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, graduated in Catalan Philology in the Universitat de Barcelona and violin professor by the Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música de Barcelona (Municipal Superior Conservatory of Barcelona).
He worked as an orchestra instrumentalist Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (Symphonic Orchestra of Barcelona and National of Catalonia) and Orquesta Simfònica del Vallès (Symphonic Orchestra of El Vallès - Catalonia), at the same time he was developing studies and works about choral music with the Grupo de Investigació Folclòrica d'Osona (Folklore Investigation Group de Osona). Later, he studied ethnomusicology in L'École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales of Paris, and obtained a diploma in specialized studies.
Holder of a scholarship of IDIM Josep Ricart i Matas, in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, he has presented his doctoral thesis about the sonorous expression of the multitudes in the urban European World. He has also participated in a French-Venezuelan investigation project about the ethnic group Pumé de los Llanos Venezolanos, as a specialist in ethnomusicology.
He has published different articles about ethnomusicology in French, Catalan and Spanish magazines and is a co-author of several different books on this subject. He is currently an associate professor in the History and Science of Music degree in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and a titular professor in the Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Vic.
