Born in Vigo, Galicia, he now resides in Barcelona.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate at Berklee college at Music, USA, he studied under Gary Chaffee, Jon Hazilla, John Ramsay, Ian Froman, Kenwood Dennard, Jamey Haddad, Bob Moses, Hal Crook and Fernando Llorca.
In addition to directing his own trio Triángel with Joan Monné and Marko Lohikari, he has toured, recorded and played with Miguel Poveda, Abe Rábade, Dick Oats, Mike Mossman, Charles Neville (Neville Brothers), Danilo Pérez, Giovanni Hidalgo, Rick Peckham, Santi Quintáns, Joan Díaz, Rai Ferrer, Perico Sambeat, Phil Wilson, Jorge Pardo, Chris Kase, Llibert Fortuny, Dani Nel·lo, Vicenç Solsona, Giulia Valle, Jon Robles, David Mengual y Gabriel Amargant.
He is a teacher at the Taller de Musics - Escola Superior d'Estudis Musicals, and also regularly teaches at seminars throughout Spain and Europe with Greg Bissonette, Jorge Rossy, Horacio “El Negro” Hernández, Giovanni Hidalgo o Gonzalo Rubalcaba.
Ramón uses Zildjian cymbals and Mapex drums.
