Staying on pitch and in tune
This volume is the result of many hours of trial and error by students taking a course in Basic Compositional Tools at the Conservatory in Calahorra (La Rioja, Spain). These are short pieces intended for the first courses in Music Theory and Ear Training. They should be helpful to students in theirthird and fourth year
. Here is something to help you begin to learn about the most common vocabulary plus musical structures: things like intervals, melodic shapes, rhythmic patterns, harmonic progressions and form. All the examples use small binary forms (A-B-A´). Also included is a CD so you can listen to the examples.
