Alborada de noite e de luz was written in 2012 and premiered on the 12th March of that year, at the Palacio de la Ópera in A Coruña, with the voices of the Orfeón Donostiarra and the Choir and the Symphonic Orchestra of Galicia, conducted by Victor Pablo Pérez. It is a symphonic suite on Galician folk songs, with optional choir. Although the work is text-less, it suggests well known songs, such as Muiñeira de Chantada or Negra sombra, all brought together around the motive of the Alborada, an emblematic form of the Galician music culture.
