The main aim prompting us to publish the Lleida Organ Book as volume eight of the collection 'Music-reading Box' is to offer traditional and folk music materials which, even though they are old, are new in that they have never before been published. The traditional work of performers and instrumental groups in what is sometimes called música d'arrel ('roots music') field ranges between creation and the riproposta. And we believe that offering and disseminating these materials is also a way of contributing to that two-fold drive. The collection has 123 musical pieces inviting interpretation and the production of new initiatives and versions that will surely further enrich the interpretative lexicon of our instrumental groups. This is the first organ book to be published in this collection devoted to spreading awareness of new musical documentation, and we hope that it will not be the last, since this land has a great wealth of such documents, each offering contents of interest.
