This piece brings alive one of the many Catalonian legends that captivates young imaginations in Catalunya. It brings us back to the world of our dreams and childhood. The name of the legend is 'The Rat Who Swept the Staircase', and the essence of it is: 'All that glitters is not gold'.The music comes from the classical tradition with easy to sing melodies and a clear and accessible rhythm.
The songs are adequate for children from 5 or 6 years and older, and adults can participate as well.
The instruments are piano, violin, clarinet, and recorder. This formation can be modified and the score is adequate for professional or high school level musicians.
Adding a bit of scenery and costumes, along with choreography and lighting, and you bring to life a old Catalonian legend with a wonderful message. Soon to be translated into English. Please check back with us or let us know you are interested in knowing about an English translation.
