Born in Mollet del Vallès in 1971, he trained under Jean Pierre Dupuy, Romà Alía, Manuel Oltra and at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Barcelona. His musical activities unfold in several spheres: composition, orchestration, teaching and pianoperformance.
His repertoire as a composer includes pieces for various ensembles and genres, including: Nexe (1999) for piano, commissioned by the Gala Dalí Foundation; Tema descompost (2002) for piano; Quatre visions al despertar (2002) for orchestra; Les bruixes de Llers (2003) for orchestra, with poetry by Carles Fages de Climent; Camps (2004) for rhapsode, tenora and piano; Díptic Figueres 39 (2008) for violin, cello and piano; El Cercador d'Estels (2009) for piano and orchestra; Emocions (2017) for flute and piano; and Celestial (2016) for piano, commissioned by the Science Needs You Foundation, among other works.
In the audiovisual, multimedia, theatrical and cooperative spheres he has worked as a composer, orchestrator and performer in a range of styles and domains, fusing classical music and jazz, thereby exemplifying his creative ambition and versatility. The following works stand out in particular: Tras las puertas, a film by Chema del Pozo and Alberto Quintanilla (2006); The Gospel X-Perience in Symphony, a show that premiered in Girona Auditorium (2007); Cançons de la Cançó, which premiered in the Palau de la Música Catalana (2008); Figueres, 1 de febrer del 39, a documentary (2009); La veu d’un poble, a New Year’s concert for TV3 (2012); and the premiere at the Gran Teatre del Liceu of the symphonic, lyrical version of Mulla't, the anthem of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, performed by the Unesco Orchestra of Barcelona under the baton of Gonçal Comellas with the soprano Begoña Alberdi and the Polyphonic Choir of Puig-Reig (2014). During that same year, a recording is made of the orchestration commissioned to him by prestigious flutist Claudi Arimany of the work Valse di bravura by F&C Doppler, which Santi Escura orchestrated based on the version for two flutes and piano by the same author. Ever since, his cooperation with Claudi Arimany on his record project on the complete works of the Doppler brothers has been a regular occurrence.
Once again, he was recently commissioned in 2018 by the Science Needs You Foundation to perform the work Revolució by Catalan composer Anselm Clavé in an adaptation for male choir and instrumental quartet (flute, clarinet, cello and piano).
