PARIS-DAKAR, a race full of diffi culties, it seemed like the perfect excuse to compose, in parallel, a fun piece for Symphonic Wind Band.
A spectacular brass section with brilliance and particular virtuosity for the wood section, have been the starting point for building, based on a simple ABA format, a small and special world sound through dual tone and free counterpoint.
Two sections of action (on set and coda) are contrasted by a relaxing « Moonlight in Atacama`s Desert », in the style of the traditional « Andante ».

We have strived to maintain a relation of « sonata » in the development and formal content. Each and every « re-exposure » appears increasingly, containing if possible, renewed harmony and instrumentation.
