Chamber concertinoFor tenora (tenor shawm) and cobla band.
The work belongs to the cycle of compositions that the composer devoted to the tenora on the occasion of that instrument´s 150th anniversary. It was originally conceived to lend the cobla band a chamber style, with the tenora as the solo performer. The musical language is independent and easy to grasp (as is usual in this composer´s creative approach), though it is made a little more difficult on account of certain interval patterns that are not common in the repertoire of this instrument. Yet despite those difficulties, good performances can be achieved, this being substantiated by the excellent readings given in concerts by leading soloists. In terms of form, it is arranged in three linked movements, the first being cheerful and resolute, the second a touch melancholic, and the third cheerful again, leaning towards the style of the traditional dances of our land.
