This book for Cello beginner's is divided into six parts: Pizzicato, Open Strings; The Bow, Open Strings; Placing the fingers: 3rd, 1st and 3rd, 2nd and 1st; First Position. / In each part there are: melodies for one, two or three cellos, canons, melodies with a question and answer form, melodies and canons with movement (so that the student gains confidence in handling the instrument and does not stiffen up when they come to play); ostinatos, short melodies and canons (with the aim of overcoming technical problems), imitative exercises, scales and arpeggios (D major, F major and G major one octave, C major 2 octaves). The book's aim is that a pupil without previous knowledge of musical language will be able to play, as the melody forms the starting point to learning all aspects of the music. It is a progressive method, working by imitating the teacher, playing popular songs and classical themes (especially chamber music) so that complexity is not a deterrent, but a stimulating entertainment. All the melodies can by played by the pupils in recitals or concerts, alone or with the help of the teacher. It is not necessary to finish one section before beginning another. The teacher must decide at what point the pupil should begin to draw the bow, place the fingers etc.Instruments
