This work is a transcription of two Chorales by J.S. Bach for alto-saxophone quartet (soprano and tenor saxophones optional).
These transcriptions are conceived as litte ventures for a relatively modern instrument in the baroque field.
The Chorales are 'Freu dich sehr, o meine Seele' (Cheer up, my spirit!) from the Cantata BWV 25, and 'Jesus bleibet meine Freude' (Jesus remains my joy) from the Cantata BWV 147.
