Música petita per a piano 2

Easy? What’s easy?
Let me tell you a little anecdote. In 2003 I traveled to Madrid to chose what would be my new grand piano. Once at the shop, which was like a car dealer’s but with pianos instead of cars, I waited for a elderly man to finish trying a huge piano. I, some meters behind him, impatiently waited for my turn while I stood fascinated with the marvelous sound that man was drawing from the piano, playing full and half notes and only the odd quarter note. Impressive, fascinating, dazzling. How difficult it is to playing full and half notes and at the same time to communicate to the listener in the sweetest, most powerful way. The mystery was solved once that man stood from the stool and turned to say “Whenever you want, boy” and I, my eyes wide open and a broken voice, answered “Thankyou Sr. Achúcarro.”
How difficult it is playing easy!
In these two volumes, “Músca petita 2” and “Música petita 3”, I wrote technically easy music, or better said, of no great difficulty. So, they demand giving oneself, body and soul, to each of the notes, infusing them with all the love, passion and dedication to reach the listener as a translucent present in the shape of a sound wave.
