I. A collection of given basses and melodies

For the first time, the Paul Vidal melodies and figured basses, a principal teaching tool in the work of Nadia Boulanger throughout her teaching career, have been compiled by her student Narcís Bonet, former director of both the Conservatoire Americain and the Ecole Normale.
This newly published format by Mr. Bonet is designed to be practical for both classroom and individual use. It is divided into two volumes, each with a set of two books: a workbook designed to be used by the student, and a solutions book which also contains explanations about some of the realizations provided by Mr. Bonet. Narcís Bonet has taught these exercises to generations of composers and performers.
